Site Map

A map of every screen and feature for quick navigation and testing. The app is a single page whose screens change based on where you are — use this as a checklist of what to click.

1. Library (home)

Default landing screen (unless Home is set otherwise in Account → Settings).

  • Tap "Your Library" heading — opens the collection pill menu (All / Classics / My Texts / + Add Collection), each scrolls to its shelf
  • Reading Now pile — tap "Meditations" spine to resume reading
  • Classics shelf — locked titles (🔒), not yet available
  • My Texts shelf — your saved custom texts; "+" opens the Add Text modal; "×" removes a text
  • Account icon (top right, "MA") — goes to Account
  • First visit triggers the Library onboarding tour (3 steps) unless already dismissed

2. Reader

Opened from a Library spine. Same reader engine for Meditations and custom "My Texts".

  • Home row (horizontal axis) — swipe or use side arrows to switch:
    • Word (Focus) mode — RSVP playback; play/pause, wpm slider, press-and-hold the focus word and drag left/right to scrub
    • Sentence mode — current sentence, tap-to-define words
    • Paragraph mode — full passage, tap to define, double-tap to jump the focus word there
  • Vertical axis — swipe up/down or use ▲▼ arrows (Meditations only; skipped for custom texts):
    • Up: Connections → Interpretation → Big Idea
    • Down: Definitions → Original Language → Influence
  • Grammar overlay ("Aa Grammar", sentence/paragraph modes only) — color-coded sentence roles, tap a word for explanation, legend filters by role
  • ☰ Books drawer — jump to any book section; locked sections if Scholar Mode + checkpoint not cleared
  • ◎ Map — Idea Map: passage/book/explore scope, tap a node to see its links, tap the selected node again to hide/show its links, layout switcher (wheel/rings/rows), filters by idea/book/connection type
  • ✓ Quiz — practice quiz; checkpoint quiz auto-triggers at book-end when Scholar Mode is on
  • Swipe down while paused on a word (Word mode) — jumps straight to that word's definition
  • First visit triggers the Reader onboarding tour (5 steps)

3. Account

Reached via the account icon or ⚙ buttons. Four tabs.

  • Settings — Home (start screen: Bookshelf / Account / Resume·Paragraph / Resume·Focus), Appearance (theme swatches), Word Timing (flat/character/adaptive), Font (size, letter spacing, Serif/Sans/Mono), Focus Word Neighbors (both/leading/trailing/none), Familiarity Decay, Scholar Mode toggle — each has a "?" help icon
  • Library — Assigned Reading (fixed) + your own collections; create a collection, tag any text into it; full text list with progress
  • Progress — reading speed, books started, reading level, comprehension level, words read/known, lookups made, your books, rule-based recommendations
  • Courses — assigned course card (mock): speed cap + comprehension-required badges, progress bar, "Continue"
  • First visit triggers the Account onboarding tour (3 steps)

4. Cross-cutting features

  • Onboarding tours — auto-launch once per page (Library/Reader/Account), spotlight + dark/blurred backdrop, click highlight or "Next" to advance, "Skip tour" to dismiss; completion stored in localStorage so it won't repeat
  • Definitions — tap any word; curated dictionary first, AI-generated fallback for anything else (works for custom texts too); offline exports show static fallback text
  • Custom texts ("My Texts") — full reader engine minus curated idea data (Connections/Big Idea/Original Language/Influence, Scholar Mode gating, Books/Map/Quiz chrome)
  • Reading speed cap — 0–700 wpm linear slider; outside Scholar Mode always full range; inside Scholar Mode starts at 0–100 and unlocks +50 wpm per proven quiz streak, further capped if an assigned course locks speed
